Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway

A few weeks ago I decided to make a change.

I decided to escape the email avalanched 9-5 job with great leave entitlements and pay security – and return to my roots…

Personal Training …

OMG! That’s a recipe for FEAR & Exhilaration both felt simultaneously.

At the young age of 35 I have invested significant time into building not only my career, but also the lifestyle that goes along with it. The thought of changing the status quo definitely bought about a few emotions and a variety of fears.

Fear – A feeling induced by perceived danger or threat.

Perception – Understanding, identify, interpret.

The way we interpret something comes down to our own mind and emotions. So shifting a feeling of fear to excitement should all only be a matter of perception… right?

With all these words rolling around in my mind I decided to go for it! Take the leap, jump. A decision which was undoubtedly followed by a feeling of pure excitement. Don’t get me wrong, I still have moments of doubt and fear. What if I fail? What if I lose everything? What if I cannot maintain my lifestyle?

But I didn’t want to live the rest of my life limited by my own emotions and self-doubt.

In these moments of fear I remind myself that I do not want to live a life controlled by a pay check.

Instead I want joy and satisfaction, self-improvement and challenges. Small shifts in my mindset make me feel more energized and determined to push forward. I mean after all, there IS a huge possibility I could succeed gaining me the opportunity to enjoy what I do, follow my passion, my love AND still maintain my lifestyle. Really, when you think about it, what is lifestyle anyway.. Unhappiness, monotony, guaranteed pay. Hmmm, there's a thought.

So it is with great EXCITEMENT that I will now be available for 1:1 Personal Training sessions from Fitness Factory Health Clubs, Mount Barker, South Australia.
